Over and Out

All good things come to an end.  We always said we would stop RVing when we stopped having fun.  But we decided to stop one step ahead of that  because we want, most of all,  to remember what a good and happy life Airstreaming was!

Ratherby (Sailing)--I hope by now he has forgiven me for that name--has been our (k)night in shining armor for exactly 3,012 days (over 40% of the last 17 1/2 years) . He has rolled us over and through 152,000 miles of memorable towns and magnificent scenery.  Now he is going to a good home in Wisconsin, where he will have a vintage Airstream trailer as a parking and camping buddy.  We will miss him.  He has been a handsome traveling machine!

Over and out,

Tom and Judee

Fall / Winter 2013 - 2014

September 29, 2013 - April 12, 2014

We headed toward Florida. Stopped in Louisville, Kentucky to visit Emily at college. Visited with my cousins, Ron and Marlin, in Crossville, Tennessee (should have taken more photos there!). And had a short, but nice visit with our good friend, Phyllis Hudgins (a published author) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Unfortunately, I had an accident that resulted in an unexpectedly long layover in Brandon, Florida, which caused us to miss our 42-day cruise to the Mediterranean.  After about seven weeks, we drove the final 150 miles to Naples, Florida, and set up camp at Holiday Manor near Tom’s sister, Carolyn.

Note: I blame my sore shoulder for the many simple iPhone-made postcards. They may not be very artistic--but they still serve as our travel log.
