Ajijic Mexico 2009

October 6 - October 20, 2009

We took a two-week fly-in vacation to Ajijic, a suburb of Guadalajara, and a place that is near Mexico’s largest lake, Lake Chapala. It is a beautiful location in this “Land of Eternal Spring.”  We didn’t take our computer with us to make HugCards, but I took lots and lots of photos that I made into a slideshow.  (Sorry, but I can’t put that slideshow on the Internet without permission from a friend first.)

Yellowstone 2009

July 2009

We arranged for two of our granddaughters, Emily and Rachel to visit Yellowstone National Park with us. At the time, Emily was almost 16 years old and living in Michigan. Rachel was almost 13 years and living in Colorado.

Colorado June - October 2009

June 22 - October 23, 2009

HOME is where you park it.

Lex and Sedona made this our Summer-in-Steamboat theme song.  Maybe it should be our HUGcard theme song!

After Steamboat, we headed for Boulder and pretended we were living there. Rachel’s driveway was a nice place to be, with just a bike ride to town.

Northwest 2009

May - June 2009

While we were in Oregon, we kept singing “Rain, rain—go away.”  But it didn’t. We had rain or fog—and it was cold—during our entire drive up the coast.  I telephoned my friend (who lives in Bend, Oregon, which is in the middle of the state) that we left the warm weather and came north too soon.  She said,  “You just came north the wrong way.”  Next time, we’ll definitely point Ratherby in her direction!  Even if we don’t have warmer, drier weather, we can rekindle a warm friendship.
