Ratherby headed east toward Michigan to visit family and friends and attend our 50th high school reunion.

Ratherby Out West 2006

February - June 2006

As soon as Tom felt strong enough, we headed West with Ratherby.  We stayed a month at the Jojoba Hills Escapee Park in southern California, filled our souls with Grand Canyon, and visited our daughters’ families in Boulder and Steamboat Springs. Going to Beaver Creek while Sedona studied violin with the Suzuki Institute was a very special trip.

December 2005 - January  2006

We were supposed to take Ratherby to Mexico; but Grandpa failed his heart test during his regular health check-up in Michigan. After his by-pass surgery, he recuperated for the autumn at our son Dave’s house in Michigan. By Thanksgiving Day, Ratherby was literally freezing, so with Dave’s help we drove Ratherby to Naples, Florida so that Grandpa could further recuperate and do the suggested physical therapy.
